Purpose
My Mission
During more than three decades caring for children and adolescents, one question became
increasingly difficult to ignore:
Why are chronic diseases becoming more common and appearing earlier in life?
That question led to EvoCode—a physician-authored educational initiative created to help
clinicians, patients, educators, and families understand the biological roots of chronic disease
through clear, relevant, evidence-based medical education.
Professional story
From Clinical Practice to EvoCode
More than three decades in pediatrics provided a close view of how the health of children and
families was changing. Alongside clinical care, Dr. Schiller became increasingly focused on the
systems behind medical decisions: how physicians document, how evidence reaches the bedside,
and how complex information can be made more useful.
His work as a certified Epic Physician Builder brought clinical medicine, workflow design,
decision support, and physician education together. That combination of patient care and
informatics shaped a broader goal: to connect observations from everyday medicine with the
biological mechanisms that influence long-term health.
Why I Created EvoCode
EvoCode began with a persistent question: why are chronic diseases becoming more common and
appearing earlier in life? The project was built to explore that question through metabolism,
mitochondrial biology, nutrition, inflammation, and prevention—while keeping the discussion
accessible to clinicians, patients, educators, and families.
Its purpose is not profit or fame. It is to make medically relevant knowledge clearer, more
connected, and more useful to people trying to understand the upstream drivers of modern disease.
Philosophy of Medical Education
Patients deserve explanations—not simply recommendations.
Good medical education should reveal mechanisms, distinguish established evidence from evolving
hypotheses, and acknowledge uncertainty without becoming vague. EvoCode is designed to translate
complex physiology into practical understanding without oversimplifying the science.
